My sister showed me this quick little recipe video from Tasty awhile back and this has become my favorite go-to protein snack and they even help calm my chocolate cravings I get so often (Yes, I’m a chocolate addict).
Peanut Butter Oat Bites
2/3 cup peanut butter
1 cup old fashioned oats
1 1/2 tablespoon of honey
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup flax seeds
Combine all ingredients into a bowl and mix it all up. Place in the fridge for about 30 minutes, that way they are easier to roll. Roll into balls; it should make about 12 bites. Then store it in the fridge!
These bites last up to about a week and they are so simple to make. I use a natural peanut butter, just to make them a little healthier. They are the perfect snack to have before or after a workout because they are loaded with protein! You do need to keep into consideration that these are pretty high in calorie, so I don’t suggest just snacking on them all day everyday. I use them as a post-workout snack if I’m not eating a meal right away, sometimes breakfast when I’m in a hurry, or like I said earlier I will eat them occasionally when I’m having a little chocolate craving.
